Wireless CCTV Systems for Sites
Rapid-deploy wireless CCTV with solar power and 4G
- Commercial site systems for construction, vacant land and compounds
- Solar power and 4G connectivity where mains and Wi-Fi are not ready
- Live monitoring, audio challenge and an agreed response process
- Portable equipment that can move as the site changes
MET Security supplies wireless CCTV systems for sites across England, using solar-powered, 4G-connected cameras and rapid-deploy CCTV towers. The system is designed for a working commercial site: it can watch a gate, material store, plant area or vulnerable boundary before permanent services are commissioned. Activations are presented to a monitoring operator rather than left as footage for somebody to discover later.
Wireless in this context means a commercial solar and 4G security system. It is not a domestic wireless camera package such as Nest or Ring. We plan the position, coverage, signal and response around the site, then keep the equipment aligned with the programme. Call 0113 844 9466 with the postcode and start date.
GET A FREE QUOTEWhat makes a site CCTV system wireless?
A site may be open, changing and without a dependable utility connection. Our wireless CCTV systems combine a solar power source with 4G communications so the cameras can be deployed without waiting for a mains supply or site Wi-Fi. That makes them useful at early groundworks, demolition areas, temporary storage yards, empty commercial plots and infrastructure projects. Position and performance still depend on the site: we consider shade, obstructions, 4G coverage, sight lines and how the boundary is used.
The equipment is monitored, not simply installed and forgotten. A detection can be reviewed by an operator, followed by an audio challenge and escalation under the agreed plan. Client access and recorded footage can support incident review, but the purpose of live monitoring is to help interrupt unauthorised activity while it is happening. Our response teams carry the necessary equipment to make basic temporary repairs, including securing breaches in fencing and replacing damaged locks.
This is different from putting a Nest or Ring camera on a domestic property. Nest and Ring are familiar domestic wireless camera products, normally built around a home network, consumer account and household installation. A commercial site system needs a different conversation about perimeter coverage, temporary access, control-room monitoring, safe attendance and changing site layouts. Manned guarding is not a core MET Security offer; the focus is monitored CCTV, response and other selected measures that fit the risk assessment.
Where wireless CCTV systems help
Construction and housebuilding
Construction sites change quickly. The entrance, cabins, welfare facilities, plant and materials move as the programme develops, and valuable equipment may be delivered before the permanent fence or power connection is complete. A rapid-deploy tower can cover the active access point and vulnerable areas at the stage they matter most, then be repositioned when the next phase opens. For exposed timber-frame work, ask about our timber frame fire watch service as a separate or complementary control.
Vacant land, yards and compounds
Empty does not mean low risk. A vacant plot, plant compound or storage yard can attract trespass, theft and fly-tipping outside working hours. Wireless CCTV provides a visible deterrent and a monitored view without a permanent installation. We discuss the number of units against the boundary, access routes and key assets; we do not publish a one-size weekly rate because every site, term and monitoring requirement is different.
Infrastructure and temporary projects
Utilities, civils, logistics and other temporary projects often operate across changing work fronts. Solar and 4G can reduce dependence on temporary infrastructure, while a movable unit lets the security plan follow the works. A site survey or clear plan helps us identify where cameras will be useful and where buildings, trees, hoardings or machinery may restrict the view.
Monitoring, response and practical support
Wireless does not mean unattended. Monitoring is handled through MET Security’s operational arrangements, with the incident assessed and escalated according to the agreed instructions. An operator can use an audio challenge where appropriate, contact the nominated people and arrange a response. Our response teams carry the necessary equipment to make basic temporary repairs, including securing breaches in fencing and replacing damaged locks. The exact access, keyholding and attendance plan is agreed for the site.
Our main base is Wakefield HQ: Unit 4 Lakeside, Calder Island Way, Wakefield WF2 7AW. We also have offices supporting the wider service from Wynyard in the North East and Preston in the North West. Those locations help us discuss regional requirements without suggesting that every tower is stored in every city. Give us the site postcode, access details, programme and perimeter information and we will explain a practical deployment.

How to plan a wireless CCTV deployment
Start with the postcode, approximate boundary and the places that need protecting. Tell us where vehicles enter, where materials or plant will be stored, how the site will change and whether there are trees, buildings, cranes or hoardings that affect a camera view. A marked-up plan or aerial image is useful, but an initial call is enough to set out the next step. We then discuss the number and position of units, solar conditions, 4G signal, monitoring, access and response.
There is no invented weekly rate to compare with a site that has not been surveyed. Duration, unit count, relocation, monitoring and additional services all affect a quotation. Wireless CCTV systems FAQs
What are wireless CCTV systems for sites?
They are commercial CCTV systems using solar power and 4G communications, designed for temporary or changing sites where mains power or site Wi-Fi is not ready. They can be monitored, moved and planned around the site layout.
Are these the same as Nest or Ring cameras?
No. Nest and Ring are domestic wireless camera products. MET Security’s systems are commercial solar and 4G deployments for construction sites, compounds, vacant land and other work sites, with live monitoring and an agreed response process.
Can the system work without mains power or Wi-Fi?
The system is designed to use solar power and 4G, subject to a check of position, conditions and signal. That makes rapid deployment possible before permanent site services are available.
Is wireless CCTV monitored or recording-only?
The service is built around live monitoring. An operator can assess activity, use an audio challenge where appropriate and follow the agreed escalation route. Footage may also support later review.
Can the equipment move as a construction site changes?
Yes. Repositioning can be planned as entrances, compounds, materials and work fronts move. The practical arrangement depends on access, the programme and the required coverage.
Do you provide manned guarding?
Manned guarding is not a core MET Security offer. We focus on monitored CCTV, audio challenge, response, keyholding and selected complementary services based on the site assessment.
How much do wireless CCTV systems cost?
We quote against the actual site, duration, unit count, monitoring and any additional requirements. We do not publish a one-size weekly rate. Call 0113 844 9466 for a site-based quotation.
How do I arrange a quote?
Call 0113 844 9466 or use the contact page with the postcode, access arrangements, site plan if available and required start date. Our HQ is Unit 4 Lakeside, Calder Island Way, Wakefield WF2 7AW.
